White Glove Tracking
A flip book publication about the glove of Michael Jackson
"White Glove Tracking" is about the position of Michael Jackson's glove in the nationally televised landmark performance of "Billie Jean." To create this database, the glove had to be located in 10,060 frames. Evan Roth and Ben Engebreth, initiators of this project, received help from the internet: collectively, the whole dataset was built. In this publication, 300 of those 10,060 frames are highlighted. When you flip this book, you will see the movement of the glove, as well as the numbers that belong to that exact position. For this publication, a custom 'hand' typeface was made. They stand for the overarching theme of this project, but also each represent the different categories from the dataset: height, width, x center point, y center point.
